The sound of the Royal Roost broadcasts is what you would expect from the period and so is the music, that is acceptable but not more than that. Unfortunately the sound is very bad on the German recording. I had expected much better sound on this and that was the reason I bought the CD but it it barely listenable/5(10).

Here we have Charlie Parker live taken from tapes recorded in New York City at the Royal Roost, Birdland and Rockland Palace from to Parker takes more risks and flys higher in the live context. The fifteen tracks on this CD contain excellent performances, and the sound quality is quite good (particularly considering the times)/5(5).
