A great little record, filled with loads of cross-cultural influences that make for one of the most exotic Herbie Mann albums of the 60s! The group's billed as the Afro-Jazz Sextet– but has a strong Latin vibe as well – a bit of an echo of the experiments Herbie Mann did with Latin jazz previously on labels like Verve and United Artists – but given a bit more of the Brand: Atlantic (Label).

I had the LP many years ago. Paul Winter takes the accompanied instrument along with the sounds of an eagle, wolf and whale, all in the key of "e." Pretty soothing and very new-age-ish music. If you like instrumental pieces and world music, or sounds of the earth on the likes of Narada labels, you will like this album. It was a must have for me/5(34).
